#metoo & Workplace Harassment
There may be no greater or more widespread conversation in the U.S. today than the one going on regarding harassment. Triggered by stories of Harvey Weinstein and Bill O’Reilly and followed with dozens more tales of powerful celebrities and bosses abusing their power over (mostly) women colleagues, we appear to have entered a time of empowerment to report current and prior abuses and abusers. The same conversation is taking place in businesses across the country. Employers need to be prepared to engage in this conversation with policies in place, trained HR staff, and management responsive to these claims.
